ADULT LEARNING CENTER
All learning sessions are private with just one learner at a time (except for some computer classes). All services are free of charge and scheduled at the convenience of the learner. Sessions can be one-time, occasional or ongoing. Books and other learning materials are free.
SERVICES

READING
Learning Center tutors work with adults who cannot read at all or who are on a low reading level, as well as those who need to improve comprehension or vocabulary on higher levels.

MATH
Our tutors will teach whatever math skills are needed by the student which could include basic math, decimals, fractions, ratios, percents, pre-algebra, etc. We also teach higher math subjects such as algebra and geometry.

Pre-GED
The Learning Center teaches any subject that the student needs help with in order to enter the GED program such as reading, math or composition. Tutors also help students prepare for college entrance exams, and help college students with homework and studying for tests.

COMPUTER SKILLS
The Center welcomes people who have no or very few computer skills. With a one-on-one format, the computer student feels more comfortable learning basic skills. There are also classes that teach more advanced skills, such as Word or EXCEL.

WORK & LIFE SKILLS
Tutors help students study for driver’s license tests, CDL, CNA or other courses. Other support includes reading and filling out applications for jobs, loans, housing, assistance, etc.; reading and understanding legal documents, prescriptions, health care instructions, manuals, etc.; learning to write checks, balance a checkbook or devise a budget.
